LPG is something of a miracle fuel.  It typically reduces harmful emissions by 90%, and at around half the price of petrol or diesel, it’s possible to make substantial savings.

For petrol-engined cars and light vans, gas conversion is almost a no-brainer. Anyone driving over 20,000 or so miles per year is likely to show significant savings. If you run a fleet of such vehicles, you really should give gas power your serious consideration.


For small diesel engines, such as those fitted to car-derived vans, the situation is less clear. It’s possible that the savings may not outweigh the cost of conversion within the life of the vehicle.  That said, the lower stresses imposed by gas power tend to increase an engine’s longevity, and significantly reduce its maintenance needs.
